Initially I struggled with trying to learn the sutra exactly or grasp each concept that was being talked about but as time passed I realised that it wasn’t a class where we were meant to learn each line and give an exam but one where experiential learning and applying it to one’s own context mattered most. I was able to see that this pressure very often lead me to over plan things and try to control aspects of my life. As the months passed, I began to uncover layers. Previously in situations that were intense and specially where a lot of emotional context with the family was involved I would get really upset and carry that with me for a long time. However, with the IWTY process, the power of observation has become stronger and I am able to sometimes watch a situation and hold it for a while. This enables me to see it more clearly and also decide the right course of action.
